Exhibition and Market
The country belongs to the top five most developed countries in Africa. The agribusiness sector contributes about 30% to the national GDP of Morocco. Still, the demand for food cannot be satisfied. Morocco is dependent on exports so that the government wants to develop the local food industry opening up good chances for foreign companies for importing food products and technology. Several promotion programs by the Moroccan Kingdom support the construction of a food industry with European quality and hygiene standards.
MAFEX is the only exhibition for the food industry in Morocco providing a platform for manufacturers of machines and products. In 2013, 105 exhibitors from 19 countries and two joint presentations from Germany and China displayed their products and technologies not only for the Moroccan market but also for the adjoining countries.
