Guerguarat: Saudi Arabia Reiterates Support for Measures Taken by Morocco

Riyadh - The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has reiterated its support for the measures taken by Morocco to ensure free civil and commercial movement in the buffer zone of El Guerguarat in the Moroccan Sahara.

The latest Saudi Council of Ministers, chaired by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, condemned "any practice threatening free movement at this vital crossing linking Morocco and Mauritania".

Last Saturday, the Saudi Foreign Ministry expressed its "condemnation of any practice that threatens movement in this vital crossing between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Islamic Republic of Mauritania".

In a statement, the Saudi ministry called for "restraint and non-escalation in accordance with the resolutions of international legitimacy."
